Oeste Selvagem Adventures is a creative field project rooted in the wildest corners of western Portugal.
Led by outdoor photographer and storyteller Patrícia de Ferreira Malhão (aka missroofless), these expeditions are not tours — they’re immersive learning experiences in real nature.
No crowds, no rush, no sightseeing. Just you, your camera, and the raw beauty of the land.
Through carefully chosen nature photography workshops, slow walks, and creative outdoor sessions, we explore places like local mountain ranges, lagoons, forests, and hidden coastal trails — always with respect for nature and a focus on calm observation.
Whether you’re starting your photography journey or looking to reconnect with your visual voice, Oeste Selvagem invites you to learn outdoors, slow down, and see the wild with intention.
Because sometimes the best light comes when you stop chasing it.
Patrícia de Ferreira Malhão, known in the world of nature photography as missroofless, is a photographer, traveler, and visual storyteller deeply connected to the outdoors.
Graduated in Architecture and Tourism, she left city life behind to follow her true calling: capturing the beauty of wild, often overlooked places, and inspiring others to connect with nature through photography.
She is the creator of Oeste Selvagem, a project of photo expeditions and field workshops in some of the wildest corners of western Portugal — slow, intentional experiences designed for those who want to learn and feel, not just see.
Patrícia is also an official Geoguide at UNESCO's West Geopark and a photographer for Sea Shepherd Global, where she documents environmental action and marine conservation.
Her calm, immersive visual style has earned her the Great Award for Best Photography from National Geographic Portugal, for her work on the natural heritage of the Portuguese coastline.
